Hackney Training and Employment Network

Website: www.hten.org

Set up in 1997, HTEN is an umbrella organisation with over 70 members from the voluntary and community training sector. Our core work is in Hackney, although we operate across London. We aim to raise the quality of training and employment services through:

  • Supporting the sector with capacity building, continuous professional development, consultancy and training
  • Influencing policy making by engaging providers in policy issues that affect them and engaging with all relevant policy groupings
  • Addressing quality assurance
  • Providing information and guidance through e bulletins and one to one advice
  • Undertaking research, development and evaluation
  • Facilitating partnerships

In addition to SKEIN, we are currently involved in delivering a support programme for the Skills for Life sector in Hackney, supporting projects funded by the Neighbourhood Support Fund across London, supporting European funded community economic development projects in Hackney and delivering training and consultancy to established training organisations. HTEN is a not for profit voluntary sector organisation managed by an executive committee elected from our membership.

LVSTC is the lead partner and accountable body for the SKEIN Project.
