SKEIN Into The Bigger Picture
The latest publication from the SKEIN Project has now been completed and is available from LVSTC. SKEIN: Into the Bigger Picture(1.97MB) is a retrospective look at the work that the network has accomplished over the past two years. More importantly, it also celebrates the achievements of the members themselves as the network is nothing without such an active, vibrant membership. As the network continues to grow, this publication sends out a timely message that street-level organisations such as SKEIN members are increasingly vital in engaging the economically inactive who are furthest from the labour market. SKEIN demonstrates the scope for co-ordinated networking and by bringing so many local initiatives together into the bigger picture, the regional picture, it shows how small groups can have a unified voice to ensure that the work they do is appreciated for its true, immense value.
If you would like a hard copy of the publication then please contact Ian Foster on ianf@lvstc.org.uk.

The LVSTC report "I'M SIMPLY LEARNING MUCH MORE . . . ."
How European Union Funds have assisted community projects in the area of skills development.
This report is based on a survey of individuals who have benefited from activities run by community and voluntary sector organisations in receipt of the European Social Fund (ESF), under the London Objective 2 Programme 2000-2006 over a two-year period 2002 -2004.
The report examines some of the barriers faced by beneficiaries within their socio – economic environment and their views on the support they have received; provides project case studies which illustrate both the type and range of community and voluntary sector organisations that receive ESF funding and the projects they run; and summarises the views of project managers based on their experience of using the European Social Fund.
You can download the "I'm Simply Learning Much More Report" as a PFD document
If you would like a paper copy please email humerag@lvstc.org.uk with your full postal details. The full version of this report including research materials is only available on line.
