Promoting Active Inclusion
Tuesday 7 December 2010
at The Irish Cultural Centre, Hammersmith
LVSTC, in partnership with Ealing Council and Third Sector European Network, organised this event to explore latest developments of the European Social Fund across Europe, England, and London in particular.
A key policy of the European Union to combat poverty has been that of ‘active inclusion', comprising 'adequate minimum income', 'full access to services', and 'inclusive labour markets'. The event highlighted issues affecting London's voluntary and community sector providers struggling to tackle disadvantage and poverty in a time of economic crisis.
The opening panel addressed how ESF is working in London and what the future could hold for this Fund. The workshops then explored issues like engaging with Primes, the benefits of small groups working together, and transnational approaches to active inclusion. The event then turned to the subject of survival strategies as the impact of the new Government and the CSR roll out across the sector.
The programme is below, with downloadable presentations and documents where available.
